  • Montmorency is one of the most iconic sour cherries as this cultivar has been well-loved, dating back over 400 years in France. It's tart flavour with just a little sweetness is excellent in pies, jams and desserts. Montmorency is also very cold-hardy and fairly disease resistant. This tree is self-fertile, but planting two or more trees will ensure the best crop.

    Dwarf grows to 10-12 ft

     

    Soil: pH 6.0-7.0 (slightly acidic to neutral); sandy loam; moist, well-drained

    Exposure: Full Sun (8 hours min)

    Pollination: Self pollinating

    USDA Zone: 4
